"Shed 7" is organized around a compact, thermal core with semi-enclosed, covered, and open spaces, allowing for seasonal flexibility.
Like farmer’s markets that fluctuate with the seasons, so too can temporary events and programs throughout the year and day-to-day.
The structural module reinforces a design schema organized around an array of central hearths, derived from core programmatic needs like kitchen ovens, a ceramics kiln, and fire pits that exhaust excess heat through chimneys in the towers that penetrate one, singular roof.
Additionally, compost from market and food production waste is stored inside to warm radiant floor heating throughout the semi-enclosed market hall.
