The proposal stages four seasonal tenebrous theatrical acts: a spring rewilding planting, a summer purple martin concert, a fall flag’s up last supper, and a winter silo propagating chamber. The use of shadow theatre, projections, and spotlights structure empathetic relationships between the commodified livestock and overworked agricultural landscapes of North America’s Midwest. Night has an infinite side where reimagining, rewilding, and healing takes place through small but generous multispecies rituals. Hybrid beasts join in rebelling against the daytime of extraction. Livestock escape their high density industrial sheds to roam wild, play, witness, and participate in the spectacle.
