The Matriarchal Model of Housing for the Most Missing is premised on the notion that normative design interventions tend to exclude the most vulnerable.
Histories and ideologies of designers drive urban revitalization, structures of understanding emerging from entanglements of class, race, and gender, which shape their visions, designs, and plans. I propose that an animist, post-human, ontological ground serves a broader "constituency" of persons, nature, and the "inanimate" world.
The project is centered on a game in which players representing different world views and visions compete to develop city-owned blocks in Detroit.
