NeoRural proposes a regenerative model for urban villages in China’s Pearl River Delta. Instead of converting hollowed settlements into tourist destinations, it introduces speculative inventions and adaptive strategies to reintegrate everyday life into historic fabrics. By embedding daily routines, production, and social rituals into the evolving village structure, the project reframes rural heritage as an active system rather than a preserved artifact. Each village is reactivated with renewed identity, collectively forming a networked megacity rooted in continuity, resilience, and shared cultural memory.
